Super Bowl Predictions

Well it is finally here, the end of the season, the big show, the Super Bowl. We have the two number one seeds going against each other on one of the biggest stages in sports. On top of that we have a great matchup in the number one defense going against the number one offense. We should be in for a great show.

A number of people have sounded off on what they think will happen here, can the Broncos stay in the physical game, will the Seahawks secondary be enough for the mastermind of Peyton Manning, will the weather determine the outcome? It is hard to say what will happen but that doesn’t me we can’t do it anyways.

Matt is leading our post season picks at 6-4, and in this one his is picking the Broncos to win with a score of 24-17. Josh is at 4-6, he is also picking the Broncos in a closer match with 19-17. I am also at 4-6, but I am going with the Seahawks to take the big one at 27-24. Either outcome I am sure we will have a competive close scoring game.

Conference Playoff Picks!

We only have three games left before the season draws to a close but for the next two I am not sure we could have gotten two better rivalry games. Going into this weekend Matt is leading us in postseason picks with a 5-3 record, Josh is next with 4-4 and I am pulling up the end with 3-4.

For the early game Sunday we have the #2 Patriots going to the #1 Broncos. Of course the main head line here is the Manning vs Brady match up, we have two of the best quarterbacks to ever play fighting for another chance at the Super Bowl. When they meet earlier this year the Broncos had a 24-0 going in to half time but the game went to overtime and almost ended in a tie, but the Patriots came out on top at the end. That was a very cold game and this one is likely to be a much higher scoring affair. Matt is taking the Broncos to take the win in this one while Josh and I are taking the Patriots.

In the latter game we have the #5 49ers traveling to their division rival #1 Seahawks. These two teams have met twice this year, each time the home team came away with the win. This one is going to be a very hard hitting game. The two teams are build very similarly; power defenses, mobile quarterbacks, and a run first offense. Even the coaches supposedly hate each other. While the 49ers are making their 3rd strait NFC Championship appearance, I am still going with the home team and taking the Seahawks. Matt and Josh are both taking the 49ers to win this one.

Divisional Playoff Picks!

We have made it through Wild Card weekend and now we are on to the Divisional round. I did not fare so well in my picks last weekend as I went 0-4. The bright spot may be that out of the three of us, I am only 1 point out of first as Josh and Matt both only went 1-3.

First up this weekend we have the #6 Saints going to the #1 Seahawks. When these two teams played earlier this year it did not end well for the Saints. It was their worst game for both Drew Brees and Sean Peyton. In this one all three of us are siding with the 12th man and picking the Seahawks.

For the Saturday night game the #4 Colts are traveling to the #2 Patriots. Even after their epic comeback last week the Patriots are still favored in this one. We are all in agreement that the Patriots will take this one as well.

Sunday we have the #5 49ers going to the #2 Panthers. The Panthers edged the 49ers out when they played in San Francisco earlier this year. This rematch will be a hard hitting fight for sure and will be a strong defensive showing. Both Matt and Josh are taking the 49ers in this one, while I think the Panthers can hold on at home.

In the final game of the weekend we have the #6 Chargers going to the #1 Broncos. This will be the third time these teams have met this year, both of them winning once before. The Chargers are on a hot streak right now, but the bye week has helped the Broncos get healthy too. This could be a big shoot out but both Matt and I think that the Broncos will win out. Josh is siding with his winner of last week, The Chargers.

Whatever the outcome, hopefully we will see some more high caliber games like last weekend.

Wild Card Weekend Picks

The play off bracket is now set. We thought we would through out our thoughts on the games.

First up we have the #5 Chiefs going to the #4 Colts, both teams are 11-5 as they enter the post season. When the meet in week 16 the Colts handled the game in Arrowhead pretty well and came away with the win. Even with that fact all three of us are picking the Chiefs to take this game.

Saturday night we have the #6 Saints going to the #3 Eagles. The Saints are coming in with the better record, but they have really struggled on the road this year. The Eagles have done pretty well but with a new coaching staff they have very little experience in the post season. This looks to be an interesting game, but in the end all three of us picked the Eagles to move on. Josh would want me to point out the fact that both starting quarterbacks went to the same high school in Texas.

Sunday we have the #6 Chargers going to the #3 Bengals. The Bengals have a better record and have not lost at home this year, and in those home games have out scored opponents by 141 points in those games. The Bengals beat the Chargers in San Diego early this year by a touchdown but in the post season the Bengals have gone 0-4 under Marvin Lewis. Matt and I both picked the Bengals to win, while Josh is taking the under dog and going with the Chargers.

To close the weekend we have the #5 49ers going to the #4 Packers. This one is a bit of a weird one as the 49ers are coming in with a much better record than the Packers, but much of that was in the absence of Aaron Rodgers. These two have met 3 times already in the last two seasons and the 49ers have won all three. The weather is also looking to play a big role in this one as the high for Sunday is o and the game starts around sun set. I thought this was one of the harder games to pick for the weekend and in the end both Josh and I went with Green Bay and Matt picked the 49ers.

All four games look to be good and at the end of the weekend we will be one step closer to finding out who will be in the Super Bowl.
