Wild Card Weekend Picks

The play off bracket is now set. We thought we would through out our thoughts on the games.

First up we have the #5 Chiefs going to the #4 Colts, both teams are 11-5 as they enter the post season. When the meet in week 16 the Colts handled the game in Arrowhead pretty well and came away with the win. Even with that fact all three of us are picking the Chiefs to take this game.

Saturday night we have the #6 Saints going to the #3 Eagles. The Saints are coming in with the better record, but they have really struggled on the road this year. The Eagles have done pretty well but with a new coaching staff they have very little experience in the post season. This looks to be an interesting game, but in the end all three of us picked the Eagles to move on. Josh would want me to point out the fact that both starting quarterbacks went to the same high school in Texas.

Sunday we have the #6 Chargers going to the #3 Bengals. The Bengals have a better record and have not lost at home this year, and in those home games have out scored opponents by 141 points in those games. The Bengals beat the Chargers in San Diego early this year by a touchdown but in the post season the Bengals have gone 0-4 under Marvin Lewis. Matt and I both picked the Bengals to win, while Josh is taking the under dog and going with the Chargers.

To close the weekend we have the #5 49ers going to the #4 Packers. This one is a bit of a weird one as the 49ers are coming in with a much better record than the Packers, but much of that was in the absence of Aaron Rodgers. These two have met 3 times already in the last two seasons and the 49ers have won all three. The weather is also looking to play a big role in this one as the high for Sunday is o and the game starts around sun set. I thought this was one of the harder games to pick for the weekend and in the end both Josh and I went with Green Bay and Matt picked the 49ers.

All four games look to be good and at the end of the weekend we will be one step closer to finding out who will be in the Super Bowl.
